Kajal Shah is the Partner, Audit & Assurance at Deloitte specializing in SOX, internal audit, and ASC 606. She has led a range of SOX projects including SOX readiness pre-IPO, SOX co-sourcing, operational internal audit, SOX readiness for acquired companies, SOX 404(b) readiness, post-IPO material weakness remediation and relevant areas. She has extensive knowledge of complex issues, including revenue recognition (inclusive of ASC 606 adoption and implementation), lease accounting (inclusive of ASC 842 adoption and implementation), and software capitalization. Kajal has more than 15 years of combined work experience in public accounting, SOX compliance, internal audit, investment banking, and tax advisory at multinational organizations.

Previously, she acted as Interim Head of Internal Audit at a cybersecurity company for the first year of SOX 404(b), and has in-house experience with internal audit groups at Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, and NetApp. Kajal is a California CPA and a Chartered Accountant from India.

Lee Ballin is a Managing Director for Sustainability and ESG Services at Deloitte & Touche LLP working with clients to help address their sustainability strategy and non-financial reporting disclosures. Lee is a strategic thinker, innovator, and highly sought-after public speaker on sustainability, as well as ESG risks and opportunities for the business, financial, regulatory, and NGO communities. He has over a decade of experience working at the intersection of sustainability, business, and finance. Lee began his sustainability career at Bloomberg, where he was a founding member of the Bloomberg Sustainable Business & Finance group. The group was the driving force behind integrating sustainability considerations into the firm’s operations globally and developing strategies to integrate ESG, climate, and other sustainability considerations into the Bloomberg Terminal. Lee established Bloomberg as a convener for impactful, must-attend conversations under the Bloomberg Sustainable Business Summit and Sustainable Finance Week banners. Lee then moved on to a business development role within BloombergNEF — a strategic research provider that helps companies, investors, and policy-makers navigate the shift to a low carbon economy.

He has served in multiple roles as a faculty member at New York University, both as an adjunct professor and advisor to the NYU Stern Center for Sustainable Business. Lee is a graduate of the Aspen Institute First Mover Fellowship Program and CORO Leadership New York. He sits on the advisory boards of the CECP’s Strategic Investor Initiative and the steering committee for WBCSD’s Aligning Retirement Assets project. Lee holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Logistics from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
