Why This Role is Exciting
The IT Staff Engineer/Solutions Architect role blends technical impact with architectural influence. You’ll be hands-on in designing and delivering scalable IT solutions while also shaping the company’s IT applications landscape. This role sits at the intersection of engineering and architecture—balancing long-term vision with near-term delivery. You’ll partner closely with stakeholders to translate business needs into well-architected, implementable solutions that drive AuditBoard forward.
You’ll be a trusted technical authority—resolving ambiguity, prototyping solutions, and ensuring delivery success—while influencing the direction of our IT systems and applications. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the Staff Engineer level: mentoring peers, solving cross-team challenges, and bridging business strategy with engineering execution.
In this role, you will:
Design and deliver scalable, secure, and reliable IT applications and solutions.
Collaborate with stakeholders to shape IT solution roadmaps while remaining hands-on in architecture and implementation.
Communicate solution tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
Partner with business teams to ensure IT systems meet current needs and are adaptable for future growth.
Drive operational excellence by applying metrics and KPIs to IT applications and solutions.
Mentor peers and guide cross-functional teams through complex technical decisions and implementations.
Stay current on SaaS, cloud, and enterprise IT trends—including the application of AI and automation technologies—bringing innovative yet pragmatic solutions forward.
Contribute to the evaluation, design, and deployment of AI-powered solutions that go beyond productivity gains (e.g., intelligent automation, AI-driven analytics, enterprise knowledge management).
Attributes for a Successful Candidate
8+ years of experience in IT engineering/architecture, ideally within a fast-growing SaaS or technology company.
Proven ability to design and deliver IT solutions that scale across multiple teams and business functions.
Hands-on technical expertise with SaaS applications, cloud architectures, and integration patterns.
Strong problem-solving skills: able to resolve ambiguity, propose solutions, and drive adoption across teams.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills; able to influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
Demonstrated ability to balance strategic design with tactical execution.
Experience mentoring and guiding engineers or peers (without requiring formal people management).
Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities.
**Preferred: Demonstrated experience implementing AI-based solutions (not just productivity tools), such as workflow automation, enterprise search, or AI-enhanced business applications.
Our Company Values

Win, together: Drive to be the best while supporting each other’s success
